This page explains what data CINEside handles — both the apps and this website — and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.

Part 1 — The CINEside apps
The short version
CINEside has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites. Your project data — screenplay, shot lists, floor plans, lighting plans, photos, and notes — stays on your device. The only information CINEside sends over the network is your license key, and only to verify that it is valid.

License verification
When you activate CINEside with a license key, the app sends that key to our payment processor, Gumroad, to confirm it is valid and has not exceeded its permitted number of activations. As with any network request, your device's IP address is transmitted to Gumroad as part of that connection. CINEside itself does not log, store, or use your IP address for any purpose.
This check also runs periodically to confirm your license is still valid. If CINEside cannot reach the internet, it falls back to the license information already stored on your device. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — the check is necessary to provide the licensed version you purchased.
See Gumroad's privacy policy at https://gumroad.com/privacy for how they handle this information.

Your project data
Everything you create in CINEside — scenes, shot lists, floor plans, lighting setups, photos, notes, tags, and references — is stored locally in files on your device, or in a folder you choose yourself (for example one synced via iCloud Drive or a comparable service under your control). CINEside does not upload this data to us, and we have no access to it.
If you use a feature that explicitly shares or exports your data — exporting a PDF, sending a CONNECT package to a collaborator, or saving to a folder you have picked — that happens directly between your device and the destination you choose. We are not a party to that transfer.

The short version
What the apps don't do
No user accounts or sign-in beyond license activation
No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking
No advertising or ad-tracking SDKs
No selling or sharing of data with third parties, beyond the license check described above
No collection of data from children — CINEside is a professional tool and is not directed at children

Part 2 — This website
Server log files
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). This is technically necessary to deliver the site and to keep it secure and stable. We have no access to these logs and do not evaluate them.
GitHub does not publish a specific retention period for these access logs. Details of GitHub's data processing are set out in the GitHub Privacy Statement: https://docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement
Transfer to the USA: GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision, and additionally relies on Standard Contractual Clauses.
